Unikko – a World-Renowned Marimekko Favorite

Finland’s most famous pattern, Unikko, designed by Maija Isola in 1964, is a timeless favorite also as wallpaper. Now it comes in four new colors: Sand, orange, nude, and light blue. We believe that at least nude (gray-beige) will be a new favorite wallpaper!

Kurjenpolvi

Floral Marimekko Patterns on the Walls

Marimekko is known for its many beautiful floral patterns. The wallpaper collection Vol 06 includes eight floral wallpapers. Without knowing, one can often guess that Marimekko’s patterns are indeed Marimekko. It’s a style that is difficult, if not impossible, to copy. The pattern Kurjenpolvi was designed by Aino-Maija Metsola and comes in four color options.

The Marimekko wallpaper Marikylä brims with life and joy. Jenni Tuominen designed the pattern in 2020, and there are many new details to discover. The wallpaper is available in black and white, ochre, and yellow. It is not explicitly a children's wallpaper, but we believe it would also look great in a children's room.

Tiiliskivi

Graphic Marimekko Patterns Become Timeless Wallpapers

Simple yet expressive are the words that first come to mind when we describe Marimekko's wallpapers. As Finns, we can take pride in the skillfully crafted patterns. They become so evident despite their simplicity. Creating patterns that meet the "Marimekko standard" is not something many can achieve, especially when we look at Marimekko's graphic patterns.

Marimekko's founder Armi Ratia designed the Tiiliskivi pattern back in 1952. The pattern is simple and elegant but still feels exclusive. The Tiiliskivi wallpaper is available in five colors: bluish-gray, black, white, green-beige, and beige.

Maija Isola often spent evenings and nights at Marimekko's print shop, dancing with a brush in hand. The famous Marimekko pattern Silkkikuikka is one of the designs born in 1961 during those late-night dances. The Silkkikuikka wallpaper is now available in three colors, light blue, white, and greige.

Graphic minimalism characterizes Carina Seth Anderson's Putki pattern, created in 2019. The timeless Putki wallpaper is available in white, light blue, green, and black and white.

Maija Louekari designed the Alku pattern in 2017. The dense and regular graphic pattern resembles beans in a row. The Alku wallpaper is available in four colors: nude, sand, bluish-gray, and mustard.

Ketunmarja

Musta Tamma

Marimekko's Playful Animal Wallpapers

The enchanted pattern Ketunmarja with foxes and small birds was designed by Aino-Maija Metsola in 2018. A fine wallpaper that appeals to both children and adults. The Marimekko wallpaper Ketunmarja is available in two color options.

The timeless horse pattern Musta Tamma was designed by Maija Isola in 1954. A classic choice for all horse lovers! The Musta Tamma wallpaper is available in black and white, light, and green.

Fujiwo Ishimoto designed the pattern Lepo in 1991. He envisioned his childhood work in the hayfield, and the breaks spent lying on his back with the stalks waving around. The Marimekko wallpaper Lepo is available in dark blue, light blue, light green, and black and white.
